This cross stitch pattern from Satsuma Street was so much fun to stitch. I turned it into a pillow and gave it to my Aunt Debbie last night. I’m very happy with how the cross stitching turned out, though I definitely need more practice cutting, measuring, and sewing fabric. I don’t yet have the right tools (cutting mat, quilting rulers, etc.) so I did the best with what I had and kind of winged it, which resulted in a wonky and decidedly homemade looking pillow. I’m ok(ish) with that, though. In the past I might have obsessed over its imperfections and my inherent ineptitude and given up, but as is often the case when I make something I am reminded of something my favorite professor told me once when I was crippled with anxiety trying to write the perfect research paper: perfect is the enemy of the good.
